Health care solution that will sell

Have the government help create a minimum health insurance savings account.  The poorer a person is, the higher percentage of money the government puts into it through taxes.  It must be a smooth percentage curve, not with a hard cut off point. It will be enough money to get the base amount of minimum government insurance limited to catastrophic care.    If you do not use it that year, the amount of money grows at government bond rates less the cost of insurance.  If you put money into it, it is tax free.  The savings account money is used to pay for insurance and deductibles only.  You can buy government insurance, or private insurance. You are allowed to choose!  This way, competition for the insurance dollars will continue to improve the system.  We must not allow group rates.  Only individuals can buy the health insurance; not companies.  If the money runs out because you have a very sick family, the base government insurance takes over.  If you die, and there is money in the account, it goes to your family.   The system encourages you to shop for the best policy for you and not to waste your resources.

We must ask these questions:

What is the motivation for an emergency room to be under-staffed?

Who can you sue for errors in a national health care system?

What will encourage invention?

What will encourage solutions?

What can we do to reduce cost?

What will keep the masses happy?

We must do something: for if we sit and let the harshness of the edge of the market system roll past the suffering without compassion, they will find a way to take us down.  Feed the poor our they will eat you.  The poor people's leaning to socialism is a natural economic reaction to improve their lot, wrong though it may be.

Let me say,  having dealt with the Social Security system and Medicare for and old person recently; mistakes happen.  They do not care about you. There is nothing you can do about it.  You have no choice.   There are good and bad people in government and in the private sector.  But, when a company does it wrong, they go out of business.  When the government does it wrong; they increase your taxes and continue to do it wrong.    The spiral of control has begun.
